Edible Elegance: a family business supporting other families

Edible Elegance began as a ‘mother-and-daughters’ venture fifteen years ago. Jacki Smith and her daughters, Jessie and Virginia, had twenty-five years of cake decorating experience between them, and they wanted to become entrepreneurs to have artistic freedom for their craft.

Jackie and her daughters agree it is important to support and give back to a community that has supported them continually for all these years.

“We have many loyal customers who have supported us from the beginning,” says Jacki, “and someone new every week through our door.”

“We have customers for whom we have made first birthday cakes through to their 13th, 14th and 15th birthdays, who are now asking us for donations for sports, dances, schools, etc., and we think that is such a cool thing!”

Edible Elegance has donated to various events and organizations, such as cake walks, Kids & Cops, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, hospitals, schools, health care facilities, sports, and other charities in the form of cash, products, and gift cards.

“We get asked weekly to support local causes,” says Jacki, “and we always try to help in some way or another.”

Jacki and her daughters are committed to the community and proud to be part of the local business landscape.
