Being a farmer isn’t an easy job. It takes heart and hard work. At the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation, they want to thank Alberta’s farmers for their drive, dedication, and determination while giving them a much-needed break during harvest.
This initiative also provides an opportunity to provide an exceptional client experience. They’ve teamed up with various partners such as WILD 95.5 to bring Meals in the Field, and the AFSC Farmer Feed: Meals in the Field contests, to central, southern, and northern Alberta.
Farmers and producers can nominate themselves or a deserving farmer or farm family for a Meals in the Field experience in either northern, central, or southern Alberta. Winners will be announced one week in advance, on the Friday before the event here on WILD 95.5
AFSC, along with their partners, will visit the winning farmers or farm families in the north, central, and south regions during September. They’ll provide the food, music (Garrett Gregory performs on September 5th, 12th, and 26th and Amy Hef performs on September 19th), and the fun to the lucky winners on September 5th, 11th, 19th, and 26th.
Each event will typically run from noon until 2 p.m. Farmers will be asked to provide a location for the event, usually a shop or barn, to avoid any weather-related cancellations. Farmers will receive a full meal for a crowd of 30 people.
